Feedback is part of every UGC job. Handled well, it’s how one booking becomes five. Handled badly, it turns a $250 video into a week of unpaid reshoots. This lesson shows you how to set limits before you film, sort each request when it arrives, and answer it without souring the relationship.

- How many rounds of revisions to include, and what one round covers
- How to tell a revision from a reshoot or a new request
- What to check before you reply
- How to say no, or “yes, for a fee”, politely
- How to prevent most revision requests, and how to get rebooked

Kristen’s examples come from brand partnerships where she also posts to her own audience, and one is a photo shoot. The same rules apply to UGC videos. Her rates at 9:24 are for posts on her own accounts. UGC is priced by the video and its usage instead, as the [pricing guide](https://ugcstars.com/creator-hub/pricing) explains.

## How many revision rounds to include

Include one or two rounds of revisions in your price, and write the number down: on your rate card, in your quote and in your agreement. The exact number matters less than everyone knowing it before you film.

In the video, Kristen’s contracts usually include two rounds of edits. The example in our pricing guide includes one. Either works. One round keeps your price lower and suits simple videos. Two rounds suit brands with several people approving, where the first round often brings comments from one person and the second from another.

### Define what a round is

A round is one set of written changes, sent together, within a set number of days of delivery. Without that definition, five emails with one comment each can count as one round, and a comment three weeks later can reopen the job.

**What a round of revisions covers**

| Inside a round | Outside a round |
| --- | --- |
| Changing or moving on-screen text | Filming new scenes or a new location |
| Trimming, reordering or swapping clips you already filmed | A new hook idea that needs filming |
| Re-recording one or two spoken lines | A different script or key message |
| Changing the music, captions or color | A new length or format, such as a 15-second cutdown |
| Fixing anything that doesn’t match the brief | Anything the brief didn’t ask for |

_Example terms. Put your own in your rate card and agreement._

## Separating revisions from new requests

Every request is one of three things: a revision, a reshoot or a new request. Sorting it correctly decides whether it’s free, so do this before you answer. At 1:03 Kristen draws the same line between edits and reshoots.

**Sorting feedback: examples**

| The brand writes | What it is | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| “Can the product shot come earlier?” | Revision | Do it within the included rounds |
| “Please change the caption to say ‘fragrance-free’.” | Revision | Do it, as long as the claim is in the brief |
| “You got the product name wrong in one line. Can you re-record it?” | Revision | Re-record the line. Small fixes are part of the job |
| “The brief said bathroom, but you filmed in the kitchen.” | Reshoot, your mistake | Reshoot at no extra cost, and say so quickly |
| “We’ve changed our key message. Can you film it again?” | Reshoot, the brand’s change | Offer to reshoot at your reshoot fee |
| “Could we also get a 15-second version?” | New request | Quote your cutdown price from your rate card |
| “We loved it. Can we run it as an ad too?” | New request: usage | Quote paid usage, by length of time |

_Example requests from a hypothetical skincare brief._

The test is simple: does the request change what’s already filmed, or does it need something new? Changes to the edit are revisions. Filming again is a reshoot. Anything the brief and your quote didn’t include is a new request, even when it’s asked for casually.
