## The short version

Korean skincare and body care brands want creators who can film a routine on real skin, show the texture of the product up close, and explain one clear result in plain words. September was the strongest month on record for Korean cosmetics shipped to the US, and Korean body care sets topped the TikTok Shop sales charts in both the US and the UK. If you sell exfoliating body washes, peel sprays, toner pads or firming creams, this is the moment to brief creators.

The work is not glamorous. The videos that sell show a shower shelf, a bathroom mirror, a hand applying product to an elbow or the back of an arm. Brands are paying for proof, not polish.

## Why brands are casting for it now

The demand signal is coming from trade data and from shop data at the same time. Korea Customs Service figures compiled by [Aesthetic Intelligence](https://www.aesthetic-intelligence.ai/en/trade/cosmetics/us) show Korea's cosmetics and skin care exports to the United States reached $221,381,271 in September 2026, +23.1% versus the same month a year earlier, and the highest monthly value since records begin in January 2020.

On TikTok Shop, the top seller in the US over the 30 days to October 1 was a Korean body care product. [RapidTok](https://rapidtok.com/blog/10-best-selling-tiktok-shop-products-usa-september-2026) ranked the medicube Smooth & Clear Body Care Set first across every category, with $4.9M in 30-day revenue and revenue up 168%. The same ranking put a Korean forehead-firming toner from Sungboon in sixth place, up 161%, and found that five of the top ten products were beauty items.

The UK tells the same story. In the week ending September 27, [Z Media](https://www.z.media/insights/tiktok-shop-uk-trending-week-ending-2026-09-27) found that a medicube PDRN collagen neck cream with a gua sha tool was the top TikTok Shop UK product, and medicube UK led the brand chart with £633K in weekly GMV.

For you as a brand marketer, the takeaway is simple. Shoppers are buying body care the way they buy face care: by ingredient, by concern and by watching someone else use it first.

## What brands ask creators to film

Most briefs in this category fall into a few repeatable formats. Each one gives the viewer something to look at besides the creator's face.

- Shower routine: the creator walks through each step of a body set in order, with the product name on screen at each step.
- Texture close-up: a pump or spray onto the hand, then onto the skin, filmed in natural light so the viewer sees how it spreads.
- Tool demo: a gua sha, scrub mitt or applicator in use, with the motion repeated slowly enough to copy.
- Concern-led review: the creator names one problem, such as rough elbows or uneven tone on the arms, and talks only about that.
- Unboxing of a multi-step set, with each item held up and explained in one line.
- Shelf tour: the product placed in a real bathroom next to what it replaced.

Tool-on-camera items stood out in late September. [Z Media](https://www.z.media/insights/tiktok-shop-uk-trending-week-ending-2026-09-27) noted that two of the top six UK products that week were items that give creators a physical action to perform, and said this kind of demo kept outperforming hold-and-describe videos.

## How to brief creators for body care

A good body care brief is short and specific. Tell the creator which concern the video is about, which body area to show, and which single claim they are allowed to make. Leave the delivery to them.

### What to put in the brief

- One concern per video. A video about rough texture should not also try to cover fragrance, brightening and hydration.
- The exact claims you have approved, in your words, so the creator does not overpromise.
- Lighting and setting: a real bathroom or shower, daylight if possible, no beauty filters on the skin.
- Product order for multi-step sets, and how long to leave each product on.
- Whether you want a voiceover, on-screen text or both.
- The usage rights you need, so the creator can price the job correctly.

Ask for raw footage as well as the edited cut. Body care content often gets reused as ad creative, and you will want the texture shots on their own.

If you need a pool of creators who already film skincare routines, you can [browse skincare creators](https://ugcstars.com/creators?niche=skincare) on UGCStars and filter by the formats you need.

## What creators should show

Creators, the brands buying this content want three things from you: real skin, a clear routine and an honest reaction. You do not need a large following. In the UK chart for late September, [Z Media](https://www.z.media/insights/tiktok-shop-uk-trending-week-ending-2026-09-27) found that a fashion creator with 3,600 followers drove 44% of the product GMV of the top creator on the same item, a reminder that the platform rewards the video, not the account size.

- Show the product on the body area it is made for, not only on the back of your hand.
- Read the key ingredient off the pack so viewers can search for it later.
- Say how often you used it and for how long before giving an opinion.
- Keep the camera steady during texture shots so the viewer can actually see the product.
- If the product tingles or has a scent, say so plainly.

## Mistakes to avoid

- Before-and-after claims that the brand cannot support. Keep comparisons to what the camera can see on the day.
- Heavy filters or smoothing effects on skin. They undercut the whole point of a body care video.
- Packing every product in a set into one short clip with no time to explain any of them.
- Medical language. Words like treat or cure belong to the brand's legal team, not the creator.
- Ignoring the season. Fall briefs can lean on dry skin and post-summer texture, which feel timely to viewers.

One more watch-out for brands. Sales on TikTok Shop move fast, and a product at the top of the chart one week can cool the next. [RapidTok](https://rapidtok.com/blog/10-best-selling-tiktok-shop-products-usa-september-2026) notes its figures are platform-derived estimates, so treat shop rankings as a signal of what content is working, not as a sales forecast.

## Where to start

If you are a brand, pick one hero product and one concern, write a one-page brief, and cast several smaller creators rather than one large one. Test which format wins before you scale. If you are a creator, build a short reel of body care routines filmed in your own bathroom, and make sure your profile lists Product Demos and Tutorials. You can [find skincare creators](https://ugcstars.com/creators?niche=skincare) or [see beauty creators](https://ugcstars.com/creators?niche=beauty) on UGCStars to compare rates and styles.

## UGCStars creators for this trend

UGCStars lists 1,120 skincare creators, with a median starting rate of $150 per video ([UGC Rate Index method](https://ugcstars.com/rates/methodology)). Brands ask them for product demos, tutorials, product reviews, unboxing.
